On February 12, in observance of World Cancer Day, Seva Sangam Organization, Kalaburagi, in collaboration with Government Higher Primary School, Honakiranagi, organized Cancer Awareness Rally to educate the community about cancer.
During the rally, students marched through the village, chanting slogans related to cancer awareness, effectively spreading important messages among the villagers
Addressing the gathering, Fr. Deepak, the Associate Director, emphasized that cancer is a major challenge to the nation's progress and stressed the importance of prevention and awareness.
In the introductory speech, Mrs. Swetha highlighted the significance of such awareness programs. Mr. Mallayya Guttedar, the school headmaster, appreciated the initiative, stating that this rally was an excellent way to educate students about cancer and its effects.
District Family Welfare Department oncologist, Mr. Chamaraj, commended Seva Sangam Organization for its consistent efforts in spreading cancer awareness and congratulated the team for their valuable work.
Seva Sangam staff member, Mr. Rajkumar, educated the students on:
• Causes and symptoms of cancer
• Preventive measures
• The importance of a healthy diet and avoiding junk food for better health
Dr. Sethal Kalloor (State-level official), Dr. Shubham (Primary Health Center, Sri Vishwanath), ASHA workers, Seva Sangam staff, school teachers, and students actively participated in the program.A total of 130 participants joined the event, making it a successful and impactful awareness campaign.
