International Women’s Day Celebration by Seva Sangam Organization
On March 11, under the Seva Sangam Organization, the International Women’s Day celebration was held at Mother Teresa Hall.

Bishop Robert Michael Miranda, who graced the occasion, emphasized that women are making significant progress under various initiatives. He blessed the gathering, expressing his hope that more women and young girls would become empowered in the future.

As a resource person, Mrs. Shrilatha from Janani Organization spoke on equality and empowerment, highlighting the increasing participation of women in education and their growing role in legal and economic independence. Her inspiring speech encouraged women to step forward in various fields.

Sister Cynthia, the coordinator of Stree Vani, delivered the presidential address, noting that rural women are becoming financially independent and actively participating in all sectors. She stressed the importance of equality and empowerment in their continued progress.

Prominent guests included Mr.Abhishek Patil, Mrs. Tripti Lakhe (Municipal Corporation Member), Mrs Jyoti Arun Kumar Patil (HKE Society Director), Dr. Vinita (Dentist), Mrs. Renuka (District Coordinator, Slum Movement), Mrs. Kamala (District Association Supervisor), Mrs. Bhim Bai (ACDPO), and Fr Praveen Joseph (Principal, St. Mary’s PU College). During the event:
• Five women achievers were honored for their accomplishments.
• Ten women received financial assistance of Rs15,000 each under the self-reliance scheme.
• Women staff members of Seva Sangam were recognized for their dedicated service.

Mrs. Shweta presented the event report, outlining Seva Sangam’s ongoing efforts in women’s empowerment. The event was supported by Fr. Victor Vas (Director), Fr. Deepak (Assistant Director),Br.Royston, staff members, volunteers, and the women of self-help groups, farmer women, early childhood education program parents, and a total of 225 participants, making the celebration a grand success.
